Generalist Showreel

I'm a Generalist who wants to do the Nerd-trifecta.

Working in Film, Games and Comics.

Video compositing - I composited, filmed and acted in the shots using my actual volunteer firefighting uniform. For the fire, I used Unreal 3d fire assets on a black background, alot of smoke assets I have.

Creature - is from a short film I directed with the team of Mini Maestro.

I created the monster in ZBrush, Maya and then Substance Painter. Using real-world references that I filmed and found, I was inspired by Corridor Cruz series “Is it UFO or visual effects” for it’s movement because it’s capable of being on all fours or two legs.

After animating it in Maya and applying various effects, such as hair and physics to the cloth and applying an HDRI that was captured on set to accurately display it in the same lighting conditions as the real-world actor. I brought it into After Effects and composed it into the final shot.

Mini Maestro team: Thomas created the Kiss the Cook logo, Bandit assisted with the concept design and Luc provided a history. For more of a breakdown of it, there is a page on my website.

MatchmoveI recorded the video with planned tracking markers, some to be removed and others left (rocks you wouldn’t notice). Tracked it in After Effects before bringing it into Maya.

I use this opportunity to use my clapper board and my chrome ball and gray ball I had made for such a purpose, using them as a on-set reference before taking similar assets and putting them in the virtual set to get it as close as I can.

Game opening cutscene - I animated the voucher landing. It was a bit challenging because the original design was in an action pose (originally intended for stills and not movement). Bandit created the voucher's design for this clip.

Music video animation - I animated an entire commissioned music video by myself in a month. All sound was provided by them, and I composited it all together.

3D Animation Showreel

Character - I'm trying to show acting where, if you hear bad news you're not instantly sad.

Character 2 - I animated them trying to keep it fun and have the viewer guessing what would happen next, because the original audio is really out of left field. The audio was from The Adventure Zone podcast.

Game character - I animated walking, and attacking animations. The animations were made to be instant, especially the attacking.

Compositing & Video Editing Showreel

Colour correct - Was done in After Effects. I made it to show I can do it.

I took the background photo, the spaceship is from District 9, I colour correct it to make it seem as though it was in the sence, I used a lens flare I have over them before adding effects to the whole.

Object removed - I removed the sign, because I was moving and there are trees in the background it was a bit tricky.

2D Animation Showreel

Game opening cutscene - I animated the voucher landing. It was a bit challenging because the original design was in an action pose (originally intended for stills and not movement). Bandit created the voucher's design for this clip.

Music video animation - I animated an entire commissioned music video by myself in a month. All sound was provided by them and I composited it all together.

Motion graphic - I tried making motion graphics that we all would like to see.

Game opening cutscene 2 - I animated the placeholders to act as if they don't care about us and the horror behind the camera.
